THE APPOINTMENT OF EUROPEAN ELECTRONIQUE TO PROVIDE DATA STORAGE, COMPUTE POWER AND BACK UP SOLUTIONS | |
Matter for Consideration: To approve the appointment of European Electronique as the Council's partner to modernise the data storage, compute power, back up infrastructure and associated professional services following a tendering exercise. | |
Information: As outlined in the previous decision Cabinet Member Decision PH75/2012, a formal tendering exercise was undertaken in August/September 2013 to select a partner to modernise the Council's data storage, compute power, back up infrastructure. The Council invited tenders through the Government Procurement’s Service Commoditised IT Hardware and Software (CITHS)Framework. European Electronique has provided the most economically advantageous tender and it is the intention to enter into a formal agreement. | |

Legal Considerations: The Project is in line with the Council’s Contracts Procedure Rules and authority has been sought from the Head of Procurement. | |

Financial Considerations: The costs of the commission will be met from within existing expenditure within the Council’s Capital Programme for the new office development and existing revenue within the ICT budget. The total contract value over a 5 year period is £1.8Million | |
Performance Management Considerations: The introduction of the new infrsatructure will provide a more effiecient, flexible, faster IT environment which enhance the productivity of the Council's workforce Performance will be managed via contract including robust performance indicators and contract management procedures. | |
Risk Management Considerations: A new contract needs to be in order to migrate from the data centre at Progress House to the New Council offices. Risk will be integrated as part of the overall approach to project management. The appointment of a specialist service provider will help minimise risk | |
